Fees, Scholarships & Bursaries

We regularly compare our fees to other independent schools and we are confident that the cost of education at LCS is better value. As well as our fees being comparable, or lower, than similar schools, the extras often charged by other schools are already included in the fees you pay us. For example, parents can be charged an additional £200-£300 per term for school meals, £300 for books, and £400 for after-school activities.

There are three terms per academic year – Michaelmas, Lent and Trinity.

Fees for 2025-2026

Scholarships

Scholarships, and the fee reductions they bring, are awarded to students that have shown outstanding achievement so far in their education, academically or in other areas.

A limited number of Academic, Art, Drama, Music and Sport Scholarships are available for pupils entering Year 7 and Year 12 and usually represent a 5-10% remission of school fees. It is possible to hold more than one Scholarship, but the maximum fee remission is 20%. In addition, pupils may apply for Music and Sport Scholarships at any point during Years 7-13 when they have reached the required level of ability and achievement.

Assessments for Scholarships may involve a practical element (e.g. audition, drawing exercise, sports activity) and a review of previous achievement (e.g. a portfolio of evidence). All applicants will be interviewed by the relevant Head of Department.

For Music Scholarships, the minimum standards usually required are Grade 4 ABRSM for main study and Grade 3 Theory for Year 7 entry and Grade 8 ABRSM for main study and Grade 7 Theory for Year 12 entry. We will also assess pupils performing at these levels who have not yet taken any grade exams and take musical potential into account.
