Year 1 support Guide Dogs through fundraising and awareness
This term, Year 1 embarked on a heartwarming mission to raise both funds and awareness for the Guide Dog Association - a cause that is nothing short of life-changing.
After an exhilarating sports day, our determined Year 1 students laced up their trainers and took on the challenge of a sponsored fun run around the playground. But this was no ordinary run. At each station, they faced exciting challenges before they could continue their lap, hopping, skipping, and jumping with boundless energy for a full 20 minutes. In the midst of it all, they took a well-deserved disco break - recharging with some fun tunes and a splash of water before diving back into the race.
Year 1's commitment didn’t stop there. In a true display of teamwork and creativity, the children rolled up their sleeves and got busy baking delicious dog biscuits - each one crafted to order. The result? An incredible £700 raised for the cause! What an outstanding achievement! We celebrated with a special visit from Annette, who is a trainer at the Guide Dog charity, and her trainee puppy, Ellie.
Huge congratulations to Year 1 for their dedication, teamwork, and compassion. You are all truly inspiring!
