Wildflower meadow blooms at Longdon

In February, Year 3 and 4 pupils dug over a bare and weedy patch of ground next to Forest School at Longdon, which Year 3 then planted with spring flowering bulbs that they had grown on over winter, as well as a wildflower seed mix.

This beautiful meadow is the result! Already it has attracted butterflies such as painted ladies, damselflies, thick-thighed flower beetles, and many types of bee and wasp. We can't wait to make it an even better space during our biodiversity lessons next year!
