Well done Annabelle and Poppy!

Well done to Poppy and Annabelle (both Year 5) for taking part in the cross-country event held on Sunday 11th January in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, representing the Royal Sutton Coldfield Athletics Club.

The conditions on the day were far from easy. It was a bitterly cold, frosty morning, and the terrain was particularly tough, making the race both physically and mentally demanding. With well over 100 athletes competing, it was a true test of resilience, determination, and endurance. Despite these challenges, both girls gave their absolute best and finished within the top 30 competitors, which is an outstanding achievement.

Poppy and Annabelle's parents said: "What impressed us most was not just the result, but the dedication and commitment they showed in preparing for and competing in the event. Their willingness to get up at the crack of dawn, train, persevere through difficult conditions, and push themselves speaks volumes about their character. Watching them compete with such determination was genuinely inspiring. Annabelle and Poppy show tremendous enthusiasm and a strong work ethic throughout their experiences. We are hopeful that this same positive attitude, commitment, and drive will continue to carry forward into her schoolwork, where we know these qualities can make a real difference."
