Vodaphone Play Your Way to Wimbledon Boys' Singles 2025

On Wednesday 7th May, the annual Vodafone Play Your Way to Wimbledon tournament was held at the Beacon Park courts, showcasing a fantastic display of talent, sportsmanship, tactical gameplay, and plenty of smiles. The event brought together an enthusiastic group of Year 7 to 9 pupils, representing a wide range of skill levels.

The boys' competition featured an impressive 24 participants, with several exciting and closely-contested matches throughout the day. The semi-finals saw Callum face Alex in a tense battle, with Callum emerging victorious. In the other semi-final, Harvey edged out Michael in another nail-biting encounter.

The stage was set for an exciting final: Callum vs Harvey. Played over a best-of-five format, both players had the opportunity to fully showcase their abilities. Callum made a strong start, taking a 2-0 lead, but Harvey showed tremendous determination and resilience to level the match at 2-2. The decisive fifth game was a gripping contest, with both players leaving everything on the court. Ultimately, it was Harvey who clinched the title, becoming the 2025 Vodafone PYWTW Boys’ Singles Champion.

With this victory, Harvey has earned his place in the County Finals in Birmingham at the end of June. Congratulations to Harvey and to all the players who took part in a truly memorable event!
