VE Day 80 commemoration

On Thursday we commemorated the 80th anniversary of VE (Victory in Europe) Day.  The day was an opportunity for the nation to come together to honour and pay tribute to the Second World War generation from across the UK and Commonwealth, through a series of national and local events and activities.

At Longdon and Lichfield, our catering teams treated us to a delicious picnic adorned with bunting and flags and a character who might be familiar.  A special thank you to the Pop Choir, Miss Croft and Mr Chamberlin for their brilliant performances of war time songs.
