Using Maths to design board games
Year 7 pupils have finished the year using their Maths skills to create board games. Pupils then tested each other's games to check that they worked.
Board games and puzzles have entertained and challenged humans for centuries, offering a unique blend of strategy, luck, and logical thinking. What you may not realise is that these games are built using a host of mathematical principles. From probability and game theory to combinatorics and geometry, mathematics plays a crucial role in the design, analysis, and enjoyment of board games and puzzles.
Year 7 certainly had lots of fun, and clearly demonstrated how much they have learned about Mathematical theory and how to apply it in real world situations.
