U14 Girls' Hockey vs NULS
Our U14 girls put in a fantastic team performance yesterday against Newcastle Under Lyme School, with a mixed squad featuring players from Years 7, 8 and 9 - several of whom were playing 11-a-side hockey for the very first time. Captained confidently by Millie, the girls started strongly and immediately took control of the game.
Bella opened the scoring with a well-taken finish to put us 1–0 up. Shortly after, Emilia doubled the lead with a calm strike (2–0). A brilliant attacking move then saw Isla create a great opportunity, setting up Bella for her second goal of the match to make it 3–0 at half-time.
NULS came out firing in the second half and pulled one back early (3–1), but the girls responded brilliantly. Bella completed her hat-trick with another goal, restoring the three-goal cushion and sealing a deserved 4–1 victory.
NULS awarded Player of the Game to Isla for her outstanding play. Special mentions also go to Isabella in goal for a superb save, and to Katie and captain Millie for their tireless work up front. And, of course, Bella on her hat-trick!
A brilliant team effort all round. Well done, girls!
