U11 School Games Netball Festival

On Tuesday 17 June, LCS hosted an U11 School Games Netball Festival at Beacon Park.

There were 9 teams involved and the format of the festival was Hi-5s, which is not the normal format that we would play. However, LCS won both of their first matches, first against Willows winning 6-5 and the second match against St Michael’s B. This resulted in LCS coming the top of their group.

The top three teams from each group then played against each other and, unfortunately, LCS lost both of their matches. The match against Christchurch was very close but we lost 3-2 and the other match was against overall winners St Michael’s A.  Beth Cobden, England and Loughborough Lightning Netballer, also made a surprise appearance at the tournament.

Alongside U11s players, some of our Year 8, 9 and 10 Young Sports Leaders umpired at the tournament and did a fantastic job. Well done to all of those involved.
