U11 National ISA Football Finals

On Friday 20th March, the U11 Football team travelled to St George’s Park to compete in the finals of the ISA National Tournament. The team had qualified impressively back in October and had waited almost five months for the opportunity to step onto the pitches at St George’s Park.

They arrived full of excitement and, with fantastic support from parents and family members, began the group stage strongly with a 4–2 victory over St Mary’s House. This was followed by five more matches, in which LCS lost three and drew two. Despite these results, the team demonstrated excellent teamwork, resilience, and determination throughout. The standard of play was exceptionally high, and LCS competed bravely, going toe-to-toe with every opponent.

As a result of the group stage, LCS progressed to the ‘Bowl’ knockout competition, where they won one match and lost two. Across all fixtures, every player displayed impressive skill and commitment, and as their teacher, I was extremely proud of them all.

LCS has not reached the national finals of an ISA football competition for many years, making this achievement particularly significant and widely recognised. A huge thank you goes to all the parents and family members who supported the team during both the regional and national finals. As a PE department, we are incredibly fortunate to have such supportive families.
