The Fire and Rescue Service visit Year 1

Year 1 were delighted to welcome the Fire Service into school as part of our PSHE and careers work. The children listened carefully as the firefighters talked about their important role in keeping people safe and helping the community. They learned how to cross the road safely, how to stand sensibly on the pavement, and what to watch out for when cars are reversing on driveways.

The children also explored fire evacuation safety and discussed how to leave a building calmly and quickly in an emergency. They asked thoughtful questions, shared their ideas, and impressed everyone with their excellent behaviour and enthusiasm. It was a brilliant opportunity to build important life skills while finding out more about a very important job.
