Staffordshire Schools Athletics Championships

Poppy (Year 5) and Annabelle (Year 5) recently competed at the Staffordshire Schools Athletics Championships, which were held at Northwood Stadium in Stoke. This is a high-quality event, which welcomes all of the best athletes from the across the county to enter and compete for medals in a range of different events.
Poppy and Annabelle were very busy as both competed in three different events throughout the day (75m, 600m and the long jump).
Poppy narrowly missed out on 3rd place in the 75m, but ran a personal best time in the 600m against a very strong and competitive field. Annabelle won a Bronze medal in the 75m and achieved a personal best time. She also ran in the 600m event, running 7 seconds faster than her last competition.
Both girls have been putting so much effort into improving their athletics, attending training sessions consistently, pushing themselves to improve their performance, and showing real resilience and discipline along the way. It has been wonderful to see their confidence and abilities continue to grow through all of their hard work. Both girls represented themselves, school, and their club brilliantly, and should be incredibly proud of their achievements.
