Sammy's amazing Three Cathedrals ride
Last Tuesday, Sammy (Year 8) completed his huge 'Three Cathedrals' fundraising bike ride.
The group departed Coventry Cathedral at 10am - Sammy, his father Fran and two other Lichfield congregation members, Neil and Ian.
They rode to Birmingham with two members of the Coventry Cathedral congregation, where the Cathedral Cycle Relay baton - which you will see in the photos above - was handed to the Lichfield group for the onward ride. The 'Lichfield 4' arrived back in the Cathedral Close at 4pm, in time for Sammy and Fran to sing evensong!
Sammy is delighted to have covered 50 miles in the day (including the ride home after evensong!), and was fascinated to see two very different Midlands cathedrals. His fundraising total currently stands at £1,220 for the Choir Projects fund, of which he is also very proud.
Sammy's mum commented: "It was a great opportunity to tackle something really challenging and feel a huge sense of achievement, so we're very grateful to everyone at School for being so supportive."
Well done Sammy!
