Rotary Schools Speaking Competition 2026

Danae, Jess and Zephan represented LCS in the Lichfield Rotary Schools 2026 Speaking Competition. Hosted by Dave Robertson MP, the event saw students debating on the topic of immigration. The judging panel comprised the Rt Revd Jan McFarlane, Dean of Lichfield Cathedral, Andrew Sims from the Rotary Club of Lichfield St Chad and Simon Price, chairman of Arthur Price.

To put it simply, our students were superb. They presented their views on immigration with great skill, precision and compassion. They also responded to a particularly tough question calmly and knowledgeably. As always, all three of our students presented the absolute best about LCS and I couldn't be prouder of them.

Unfortunately, the results didn't go our way and The Friary, who presented equally well, pipped us to the post. In defeat, our team were gracious and humble, offering the winning team congratulations and singing their praises!
