Rockschool and RSCM achievements

Just a couple of weeks ago, we shared the fantastic results from our pupils who took ABRSM and Trinity music exams. Now, it’s time to shine a light on another group of dedicated young musicians - those who have recently completed Rockschool exams and RSCM Medal exams.

A special congratulations go to:

George who was awarded a Merit for Grade 8 Rockschool Drums - a brilliant achievement at such a high level.
Hollie who has been awarded a Merit for Grade 3 Rockschool Vocals.
Billy who also earned a Merit for Grade 2 Rockschool Drums 
Chloe who has been awarded a Merit for Grade 2 Rockschool Vocals.

We are also eagerly awaiting the results from our pupils who recently took RSCM medals. These assessments, run by the Royal School of Church Music, are designed to recognise and reward singers for their vocal and musical development in a choral context. Pupils complete a combination of practical singing tasks and musical understanding, progressing through different medal levels as they grow in skill and confidence. We look forward to celebrating these results in due course!

Music Colours Reminder
Now that we’ve announced the introduction of Music Colours, we’re aware that several pupils may meet the criteria, but we might not know if they learn an instrument outside of school.  If your child has completed a grade exam outside of school, please email a copy of the certificate to Mrs Davis at music@lichfieldcathedralschool.com so we can update our records and ensure they are celebrated, too.
