Rainforest Challenge for Year 8
Year 8 visited the Botanical Gardens in Birmingham, as part of learning about how plants and organisms adapt to different climates, as well as the parts played by genetic mutation and interdependence within ecosystems, during the course of evolution.
A trip through the stunning glasshouses demonstrated the ways plants adapt to survive and thrive in extreme arid conditions, through to vibrant tropical rainforests. Year 8 also took part in the Rainforest Challenge - in small teams, pupils had fun acting as rainforest detectives following cryptic clues to discover specific rainforest plants within the Gardens.
