Phenomenal A Level results!
Students at Lichfield Cathedral School are celebrating another year of exceptional A Level success, with outstanding results securing places on a wide range of highly competitive university courses and degree apprenticeships across the UK. 53% of all grades were A* or A. 98% of grades were A*-C.
The impressive outcomes reflect years of hard work, determination and commitment from students, supported every step of the way by dedicated teachers and supportive parents.
This year's leavers will be progressing to an exciting range of degree programmes, including Law, Business, Psychology, Biomedical Sciences, Criminology, Philosophy, History and Maths at leading universities across the UK.
The results continue the school's strong tradition of academic excellence while also highlighting its commitment to developing well-rounded young people equipped to thrive in higher education and beyond.
Headteacher Sue Hannam praised the achievements of the students and the collective effort behind their success.
"We are absolutely delighted with this year's A Level results and immensely proud of every student. These outcomes are the culmination of years of hard work, dedication and perseverance, and they reflect the ambition and resilience our students have demonstrated throughout their time at with us. As a non-selective school, students start Sixth Form with a wide variety of GCSE results, yet they have far exceeded all predictions. The difference Lichfield Cathedral School has made to their education demonstrates why we are consistently placed in the Top 10% of schools nationally for value-added.
"We are equally grateful to our talented and committed staff, whose expertise, encouragement, and care help our young people realise their potential, and to our parents and families whose unwavering support plays such an important role in every student's journey.

Assistant Head Melissa Gardner highlighted the breadth of achievement demonstrated by the cohort.
"Today's results reflect far more than performance in examinations. They represent hundreds of hours of hard work and personal growth. Our students have embraced opportunities both inside and outside the classroom, developing confidence, independence, and the skills required for future success at university and in the workplace.
"We are thrilled to see students progressing to such a diverse range of university courses and career pathways. Their achievements are testament to their commitment and to the outstanding support network around them at school, including teachers, academic tutors, coaches, support staff and parents.
"We encourage our young people to be curious, compassionate, and courageous. The qualities that have helped them achieve these excellent results are the same qualities that will enable them to become future leaders, innovators and changemakers. We look forward to seeing the impact they will have in the years ahead."
While the overall results were outstanding, there were some exceptional results by individual students. Theo Dixon achieved A*A*A* plus an A* in the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), and will now begin a prestigious degree apprenticeship with Airbus in engineering. Jess Wharton’s A*A*A* and an A in the EPQ mean she has accepted an offer to study Maths at Durham University, where she will be joined by Isla Brennan studying History following her A*A*A and an A* in the EPQ. Zephan Rowe achieved A*A*B and will study Philosophy at Edinburgh University. Danai Karaiosifidi ‘s A*AA and an A* in the EPQ has enabled her to accept a place at York University to study International Human Rights Law, while the same grades achieved by Abigail Young see her accept a place at Leeds to study Psychology.
As students prepare to take their next steps this autumn, the entire school community joins together in congratulating them on their achievements and wishing them every success in the future.
In addition, Jessica Murphy achieved an A in Spanish a year earlier than usual, and is looking forward to continuing Sixth Form in September.
