Oliver's cricketing success

Oliver (Year 10) and his under 15 Penkridge Cricket Club team-mates recently won the Staffordshire County Cup Final! This Cup competition has involved teams from all over the Staffordshire county, with the final being played against a strong Tamworth team at the neutral ground of Stafford. 

Oliver opened the bowling and whilst nervous, still managed to top the bowling stats for both sides.  He batted maturely making a real contribution to a run chase of 140.  The team now go on to play the winners of Worcestershire County Cup for a place in the national final, which we understand may be held at Lords in London, the home of cricket!

In addition to the above, Penkridge recently played in another semi final, this time in the League Cup.  Oliver is growing in strength with his cricket, last week opening the bowling in the second team, taking 6 wickets for 22 and now being invited to play in the first team more often, something of which he is incredibly proud.
