Musical inspiration at Symphony Hall

Year 5 recently visited Symphony Hall in Birmingham to see the amazing City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. From Doctor Who to Beethoven, Star Wars to Stravinsky, the concert was packed with incredible music and allowed everyone to see the teamwork and skill required to perform as part of an orchestra.

As well as listening to the music, the children also had the chance to take part in their own performance of the hit song Jai Ho from the film Slumdog Millionaire and to hear the musicians talk about what it is like to perform live on stage.

It was a wonderful trip that truly captured everyone’s imagination – I think the next step is definitely a Broadhurst orchestra!
