Lichfield Cathedral Charity Auction: Fri 16 May

As part of the biennial Gala Dinner at the Cathedral, the auction is now live, which will be concluded during the evening of the Gala Dinner on Friday 16 May 2025. 

Of particular local interest is a Cathedral stone (a type of limestone named ‘Hopton Wood’) which has been reclaimed from the Cathedral floor and carved into the diocesan crest with the Lichfield Cathedral School motto ‘Inservi Deo et Laetare’ and has been gilded with 23 carat gold and painted to match the colours of the Lichfield Diocese by one of our Stonemasons, Matthew Tinsley.
