Hindu temple visit for Year 2 pupils

We recently had an amazing day at the Balaji Temple in Dudley. We learned all about temple rituals and the flag and the sacrificial stone outside the entrance and we were told that Ganesh (the elephant-headed god) is brave and wise. Indeed, Hindus often worship Ganesh before they start anything new or have an important decision to make.

We also saw some truly beautiful Rangoli patterns and went in the temples of Ganesh and Murugan (protector of the weak.) All the deities at Balaji, like Murugan were adorned with flowers, jewellery and other beautiful objects.
