Head Choristers plan the year ahead
Our Head and Deputy Head Choristers recently enjoyed a meal at ASK with Mr Lamb, Mr Rawles and the Chorister Matrons to celebrate their new leadership roles. The evening provided a wonderful opportunity to relax around the table and discuss their hopes and ideas for the year ahead. Together, they explored ways to further enhance the chorister experience, both for themselves and for the younger choristers they will be supporting and leading. We are looking forward to a very exciting year ahead under the leadership of Leo, Alice, Felix, Samuel and Erin, and we can't wait to see the positive impact they will have on our chorister community.
Choristers and Choral Scholars Perform in Services Honouring Bishop Michael
On Sunday 27 September, our Choristers and Choral Scholars sang at two significant services held in honour of Bishop Michael. The choir received high praise for their outstanding contribution to both lengthy and important occasions.
The morning Eucharist at Lichfield Cathedral marked Bishop Michael's final celebration of Holy Communion as Diocesan Bishop. The congregation included clergy, churchwardens, diocesan staff, ecumenical guests, civic representatives, family members, friends, and parishioners from across Staffordshire, Shropshire, the Black Country and the wider areas served by the Diocese.
In the afternoon, the choir participated in a special Choral Evensong of Thanksgiving at Lichfield Cathedral. The service was held not only to mark Bishop Michael's retirement, but also to give thanks for his ten years of faithful leadership as the 99th Bishop of Lichfield.
