Ecology study in Beacon Park
Recently, Year 7 went to Beacon Park in Lichfield to do study some ecology. They all completed three different activities including soil sampling, a botanical scavenger hunt and pond dipping.
It was lovely to see pupils so engaged in the scavenger hunt and there were some very high scoring groups for this challenge. We were also impressed by the number of minnows, sticklebacks and water boatmen collected during the pond dipping.
Year 7 enjoyed the sunshine and threw themselves into all the activities with great enthusiasm. They learned how to observe nature ethically and appreciate the wide biodiversity on our door step. Well done year 7!
