Duke of Edinburgh's Award - Bronze practice expedition

Last weekend a large group of Year 10 students undertook an overnight practice expedition as part of their preparations for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Bronze level.

The practice expedition is designed to help participants develop essential skills and confidence before their qualifying expedition.  Participants must demonstrate their skills in a practical setting, focusing on learning and making mistakes with guidance. The expedition mirrors the qualifying expedition in terms of mode of travel, team size, accommodation, and terrain. The practice expeditions provide a valuable opportunity for participants to refine their skills in navigation, trekking, preparing their campsite, cooking, and looking after each other, in a supportive environment.
