Culture Day focused on heritage and identity
Last Friday, pupils and staff came to School dressed in clothes which reflected their heritage and culture. They spent time during lessons and in assemblies reflecting on the importance of a person's culture in forming their own identity and in creating rich and diverse communities. There was a wonderful atmosphere as people came together to recognise and celebrate the individuals who make up our LCS community.
On Thursday, Year 7 and Year 8 were involved in a Cultural Performing Arts Project as part of our wider activities for Refugee Week, which included:
- Year 8 performing their Greek Myth Stories
- Year 7 presenting a Bob Marley performance and other storytelling pieces
- A giant Moomin (part of the Refugee Week official resources) where students wrote messages reflecting the community spirit of the project
- A Samba workshop.
