Crime and punishment with Year 4
Year 4 enjoyed a trip to the National Justice Museum in Nottingham as part of their topic on crime and punishment through the ages.
This outstanding educational resource uses real courtrooms, museum spaces and objects to help children and young people gain a hands-on understanding of the law and justice. Nottingham’s former Courthouse and Gaol houses the UK’s largest collection of over 40,000 law, justice, crime, and punishment artefacts, and is well worth a visit if you're looking for activities for the summer holiday.
Year 4 learnt about some interesting forms of punishment in Georgian and Victorian times; visited the prison cells of the past; and even took part in a court case!
