Careers Fair for Years 3 and 4

Our Year 3 and 4 pupils enjoyed a brilliant Careers Fair at Longdon, where five guest speakers joined us to share insights into their working lives.
We were delighted to welcome visitors from town planning, law, dentistry, computer programming and 3D art in game design. Each speaker explained what their careers involved and presented different scenarios where they utilised the 8 future-led skills - Speaking, Listening, Leadership, Teamwork, Problem Solving, Creativity, Adapting and Planning.
The children listened carefully and were eager to take part in the workshops. They asked thoughtful, relevant questions and showed a genuine interest in the different career paths on offer. Across the five sessions, the children discovered how new towns are planned, how solicitors use the rules of law to help their clients, how computer programming is used to create interactive apps and software, as well as the impact art work has on game design and the tools and training a dentist uses to help keep us healthy.
A huge thank you to all our guest speakers for giving their time and inspiring our pupils. It was a memorable afternoon that opened lots of eyes to the wide variety of exciting careers available.
