Cannock & District Athletics Yrs 8-9
15/5/2025 - Year 8/9
The third Cannock and District athletics competition took place on the 15th of May, with places up for grabs on the district team for the upcoming county championships. We took a strong group of Year 8 and Year 9 pupils to compete, with some of our younger Year 8 pupils having to compete against the Year 9s. We had plenty of success again and LCS looked really strong across many events. Five first place finishes and eleven podium finishes bring to an end a really successful series of competitions for us. Shout out to Louis who once again won all three of his events on the day.

We have had a brilliant half term of athletics and cross-country, accumulating 21 first place finishes and 50 podium places as well. We have also seen 8 of our pupils qualify for the Staffordshire Schools County Athletics Championships and they will compete in a combined 12 events. Plenty more athletics to come after half term, as we switch our attention to the junior and senior ISA competitions.
