Autumn outdoor learning at Longdon

Two junior pupils use a saw to cut logs

During our fascinating autumn outdoor learning at Longdon, so far we have
  • collected oak galls and smashed them up to make ink;
  • used the bow saw to cut logs;
  • peeled willow to made charcoal on the fire;
  • foraged for berries and cooked them to make elderberry syrup;
  • learned to identify different members of the corvid family; and
  • used blackberries to mash into dye to make tie-dyed fabric.
