| The School enjoys a happy family atmosphere. The Headmaster and his wife, the Boarding Master and the Senior Matron, all live during term time in the main school building, enabling the important pastoral needs of the boarders to be met. The current provision allows only for boy boarders, the majority of whom are choristers. Boarders must be registered with the school doctor, who gives all new pupils a thorough medical examination on admission. Arrangements can be made for boarders to receive dental, hospital or other medical treatment as necessary. |

There is a member of staff and a Matron on duty for all pupils at all times. Furthermore, the playgrounds and moat play area are supervised at all appropriate times.
A professional catering company, very experienced in the dietary needs of children, is employed by the school. All meals are cooked on site, and a well balanced menu is carefully designed to attract young appetites. The daily meals are breakfast, lunch and high tea. All pupils stay for lunch. Milk, orange squash and biscuits are available during the mid-morning break, and boarders have a light snack at the end of the afternoon and before going to bed. The Tuck Shop is open twice a week. |

| Uniform is straightforward and the clothing list is kept as short as possible, bearing in mind appearance, usefulness and cost. There is a school clothing shop on site, offering both new and nearly new items. |
