We find ourselves in a climate where some of our neighbouring independent schools are facing financial difficulty, merging with others, changing their status to become Academies or even closing. At Lichfield Cathedral School we are committed to maintaining our status and the excellent standard of education that we have been providing for centuries.
However, independence comes at a price. We receive no financial support from government departments and are often precluded from charitable grants because of our independent status.
2017 marks the School’s 75th Anniversary Year and the launch of our five year campaign to raise £1 million for the Foundation by 2022.
This is an important source of sustainable income for the School. If 834 people gave £20 per month over 5 years, we would achieve our target of raising £1 million.
Regular donations can also be made online via our JustGiving page.
Many donors are now giving a donation as and when they can. If you can help us by sending a contribution, no matter how small, then please contact our Bursary Team on 01543 306172 for more information.
Many of our supporters have chosen to bequeath a gift in their Will. Leaving a gift to Lichfield Cathedral School in your will has the power to change lives. It is one of the greatest gifts you can make, and is a lasting testimony to your affection for the school.
You can choose to direct your bequest to a particular cause, such as bursaries for the sons and daughters of clergy or for children from low-income families. You may prefer to support buildings or facilities, or to set up a prize or scholarship in your name. Alternatively, you may just wish to support the area of greatest need when your gift is realised.
If you notify us that you intend to leave the School a gift in your Will, you will be given the option of joining the Arthur Broadhurst Society. This special society is named in honour of our former teacher and benefactor who funded the Broadhurst Building, currently housing our Key Stage 2 hub in The Close. It is our way of thanking you for treating us as if we were part of your family.
Please download and complete our Legacy Pledge Form to tell us about your gift and allow us to thank you.
Ideally, we welcome unrestricted donations that can be directed at the discretion of the Governors and Head Teacher; however, if you have a preference for how you would like your gift to be directed, we would be delighted to discuss this with you.
If you would like to talk to us about making a donation, please contact the Bursar, Mr David Brown, on 01543 306172 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
