The beautiful, rural Longdon site accommodates the Pre-School to Year 4 children in a warm, welcoming and safe environment with plenty of outdoor space. For Year 5 and 6, pupils transfer to our bespoke Key Stage 2 hub at the Lichfield site in the Cathedral Close.

The Pre-School (Junior – Pre-School) welcomes children in the term after their third birthday. Parents can take advantage of the Early Years Entitlement Funding to provide 15 hours free for 3 and 4 year olds.

Children usually start Reception at the beginning of the academic year in which they have their fifth birthday, although late summer-born children occasionally defer to the following year.

Care and support

“Staff provide excellent role models and successfully create a secure and welcoming environment in which children thrive. Throughout the school the contribution of arrangements for pastoral care are excellent.”
ISI Inspection Report 2016

The Christian foundation of Lichfield Cathedral School underpins all that we do as a community. Effective pastoral care is at the heart of the care and nurture of our pupils. The school aims to provide a strong and supportive environment in which all its children can flourish. Each individual child is known well by the staff and his/her individual needs are addressed as well as celebrating his/her successes, effort and progress. We build strong relationships with parents through regular and open communication, providing a continuity of care between school and home.

Forest School

“Sessions in the woodland learning area provide good opportunities for children to reinforce topic work and learn valuable life skills through the natural world.”
ISI Inspection Report 2016

The well-established Forest School programme is available to all primary year groups based at Longdon and Lichfield. This fantastic initiative enables children to learn outdoors taking advantage of the stimulating environment, building independence, self-esteem and a positive attitude towards learning as they explore and experience the natural world for themselves.

If you would like to see the Longdon site for yourself and meet our wonderful pupils and staff, please contact the Admissions Team on 01543 306168.
