Choristers Choristers in the Cathedral

[In September 2006, the school is launching an exciting new girls choir for talented singers. For information and audition dates, see its website here.]

Internationally recognised as members of one of the finest cathedral choirs in Britain, the choristers are part of a living musical tradition which can be traced back over five centuries.

Their work in leading the worship in the unparalleled beauty of the cathedral, enables them to develop their musical skills, under professional guidance. It also encourages a spirit of teamwork, self discipline and a striving for the highest standards in a rewarding environment.

Choir Practice

As well as its cathedral duties, the choir makes CD recordings, tours abroad and broadcasts for radio and television. All choristers receive generous scholarships from the Dean and Chapter which opens the doors to those for whom the benefits of Independent School education might not otherwise be possible.

For families in financial need, assistance might be available from the Choir Schools' Association. Applications are made via the School's Bursar.
