ENTRANCE EXAMINATION
Entry into year 7 (age 11+)
Students seeking entry into Lichfield Cathedral (Secondary) School sit an Entrance Examination unless they are already members of the Preparatory Department.
The purpose of the Entrance Examination is to ensure that prospective pupils seeking a place at the school will benefit from the curriculum on offer.
All candidates sit 4 papers; English, Mathematics, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning. In addition, candidates are interviewed and a report will be requested from the candidate's current School.

SCHOLARSHIPS & BURSARY AWARDS
SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships are offered to children who display a high standard academically or in other areas. Both internal and external candidates are invited to compete for the range of Scholarships which are available at age 7+, 9+, 11+, 13+ and - eventually - at 16+.
Entry into year 7 (age 11+)
- Academic, Music and All-Rounder Scholarships, including Sport, Art or Drama. (Application forms)
- Scholarships may be supplemented with a Bursary (see below)
BURSARIES
Bursaries are available in the following categories:
- School Assisted Places: These are awarded as a supplement to a Scholarship, strictly determined by parental gross income.
- School Bursaries: These are designed to assist families who are experiencing short-term financial difficulties. They are means-tested and reviewed annually. The value of the Bursary is recommended by the Headmaster and Bursar, but awarded by the Governing Body.
- Armed Forces and Clergy Discounts: are available - Please make enquiries.
- Sibling Discounts
2nd Child - 5%
3rd Child - 7.5%
4th Child and subsequent child - 10%
